Cross-server access via partial group authorization

Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026

Incorrect authorization in MCPHub before 1.0.31 allows remote authenticated users to access unintended servers through a group route. The isBearerKeyAllowedForRequest function accepts a servers- or custom-scoped key when allowedServers overlaps any group member, then omits per-server checks. A valid scoped bearer key and a group containing both an allowed and a restricted server are required, exposing the restricted server's tools, prompts, and resources.
