CVE-2026-79718Hinoki check available

JavaScript execution via unescaped sidebar model fields

Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

DOM-based XSS in Lutz Roeder Netron 9.1.2 and earlier allows attackers to run JavaScript when a user opens a crafted model file. Sidebar views assign model-controlled node names and value descriptions directly to innerHTML without escaping, causing Chromium to parse injected markup. Exploitation requires selecting the malicious node; code runs in the renderer and can scan local ports or hide nodes, while host RCE requires a separate Chromium exploit.
