Comment moderation bypass via omitted scope middleware
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Missing authorization in Ech0 before 4.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to moderate comments through underscoped access tokens. The nine routes registered in internal/router/comment.go omit RequireScopes middleware, while requireAdmin checks only the account role and not token scopes. Exploitation requires an admin-issued access token and permits comment disclosure, moderation, deletion, and settings changes.
