Authentication bypass in Ech0 before 4.7.3 allows remote attackers to alter engagement metrics through the public like endpoint. PUT /api/echo/like/:id is registered without JWT middleware, and LikeEcho increments fav_count for any supplied existing identifier without viewer, ownership, privacy, deduplication, or rate-limit checks. No credentials or user interaction are required; repeated requests corrupt popularity rankings and generate database writes and cache invalidations.
