External redirection via unchecked decoded state
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Open redirect in Apache CXF’s OIDC relying party allows remote attackers to redirect users to external sites via crafted state parameters. The component retains attacker-controlled state and uses it as a redirect destination without checking the final decoded URI against the relying party’s origin; single- or double-encoded external URLs reach different validation paths. Exposure requires use of the affected OIDC relying-party component and successful user authentication, with the documented consequence limited to an attacker-controlled redirect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
