Access-control bypass after renderer compromise
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
Insufficient policy enforcement in Google Chrome Extensions before 148.0.7778.96 allows remote attackers to bypass discretionary access control. Google has not disclosed which Extensions policy check fails or which renderer-controlled input is accepted, and the referenced issue remains restricted. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page, user interaction, and prior compromise of the renderer process; the demonstrated consequence is limited to crossing the affected policy boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
