Administrative takeover via embedded default credentials
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Hardcoded credentials in Xiongmai IP Camera XM530 firmware HMT.CM2005-v220608.1837 and earlier allow remote attackers to gain administrative control. The firmware stores a static account in plaintext in bin/config.xml and compiles the same credentials into the Sofia executable. Network reachability to a login service accepting the default account is sufficient for full camera administration, including configuration and feed access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
