Sandbox escape via improper Chromecast input validation
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Improper input validation in Google Chrome's Chromecast component before 152.0.7977.65 allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox via crafted HTML. Google identifies the faulty locus only as Chromecast and has not disclosed which input lacks adequate validation or which operation consumes it. Exploitation requires user interaction and prior compromise of the renderer process; successful exploitation executes code outside that renderer's sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
