CVE-2026-79113Hinoki check available

Decoder crash via unchecked access-unit length

Published Oct 3, 2026 · Updated Oct 3, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in Academy Software Foundation OpenAPV before 1.1.1.0 allows attackers to crash its decoder via crafted APV files. The read_bitstream function copies the length declared in an access-unit header into a fixed 128 MiB heap buffer without checking that the data fits. Exploitation requires the decoder application to open the crafted file; the available evidence does not establish code execution or a network-facing service.
