Sandbox escape via nested shader switch returns
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Memory corruption in Google Chrome's Tint component before 152.0.7977.65 on Mac allows remote attackers to execute code outside the sandbox. Tint's MSL writer emitted early returns nested in switch blocks without the volatile-guarded conditional required to avoid a macOS MTLCompilerService driver bug. A user must open a crafted HTML page that supplies the shader content, after which successful exploitation escapes Chrome's sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
