CVE-2026-78986Network attack vector

Cross-origin data disclosure via uninitialized GPU resource

Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Use of an uninitialized GPU resource in Google Chrome before 152.0.7977.65 allows remote attackers to obtain cross-origin data. The GPU component exposes data from an uninitialized resource when a crafted HTML page reaches it from a compromised renderer process. Exploitation requires interaction with the crafted page and prior compromise of Chrome’s sandboxed renderer; the reported consequence is cross-origin data disclosure.
