Sandbox escape via Crashpad out-of-bounds write
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Google Chrome Crashpad before 152.0.7977.65 on Windows allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox with code execution. Google identifies Crashpad as the locus and an out-of-bounds write as the faulty operation, but the restricted issue does not expose the affected routine or buffer. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page and prior renderer-process compromise; success executes arbitrary code outside the sandbox on Windows.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
