Sandboxed code execution via V8 buffer overflow

Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Buffer overflow in V8 in Google Chrome before 152.0.7977.65 allows remote attackers to execute code inside the sandbox via crafted HTML. The public record identifies the V8 engine but does not disclose the affected function, buffer, or unchecked operation because the Chromium issue remains restricted. A victim must load attacker-controlled HTML; successful exploitation gains code execution only within the renderer sandbox, with no reported sandbox escape.
