Credential disclosure via static and SID-derived keys
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Credential disclosure in Rocket Software Rocket Remote Desktop 18.0.8583.1 allows local users to read saved passwords via client files. The environments.xml connection string uses a static AES key, while Windows-authenticated users' stored passwords use database-readable SIDs and static padding as the key and IV. Access to the client configuration and central database exposes those users' saved credentials across the database, not just the current user's credentials.
