CVE-2026-78807

Authentication bypass via mismatched PMKSA cache selection

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Authentication bypass in wpa_supplicant before 2.12 allows attackers to reuse an unrelated PMKSA entry during wireless association. In wpa.c, the driver-based PMKSA selection path accepts a cache entry without matching its network context and AKMP to the target network. Exploitation requires a misbehaving access point and a valid credential for any configured network; WPA3-Personal targets using SAE are unaffected.
