Code execution via initial-peers stack overflow
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Stack buffer overflow in RTI Connext Professional allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted initial-peers XML. The core libraries write beyond a stack buffer while loading attacker-controlled initial-peers configuration supplied through Routing Service remote administration or at application startup. Without RTPS protection, remote administration is reachable without authentication; with protection enabled, local write access to startup XML is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
