CVE-2026-78600Network attack vector

Unauthorized cluster reads via retained cross-namespace credentials

Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026

Incomplete cleanup in Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes 2.6.0 through 3.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to retain unauthorized read access. After RBAC denies a cross-namespace association, ECK fails to remove authentication credentials already issued for the associated Elasticsearch cluster. A low-privileged tenant must first establish the association and then have cross-namespace permission revoked or enforcement enabled.
