Resource deletion via stored Fleet path traversal
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Path traversal in Elastic Kibana Fleet 8.0.0 through 8.19.16 and 9.0.0 through 9.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to redirect deletion. Fleet stores a low-privileged user's path without restricting it to the intended resource scope, and a later administrative delete action resolves that path as its target. Exploitation requires Fleet write access and administrator interaction, and can delete internal resources, including elevated accounts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.19.16
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.3.5
