Privileged resource deletion via deferred path traversal
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Path traversal in Elastic Kibana 8.0.0 through 8.19.17 and 9.0.0 through 9.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete privileged resources. The Fleet Settings flow carries attacker-controlled path input into a later administrative action without confining its target; Elastic has not disclosed the affected field or function. Fleet Settings write access and an administrator's interaction are both required; deletion can include user accounts and organizational assets.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.19.17
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.3.5
