Camera disconnection via unauthenticated onboarding connect
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Improper authentication in TP-Link Systems Inc. Tapo C120 v1 and Tapo C200 v5 allows remote attackers to disconnect a camera via HTTPS onboarding. The do-method HTTPS onboarding connect action accepts wireless configuration parameters without authenticating the caller after initial setup. An attacker on the adjacent network can make the camera attempt another Wi-Fi connection, leaving its intended management address unreachable; data access is not established.
