Admission deny bypass via sidecar image impersonation
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Admission control bypass in SUSE NeuVector 5.6.1 allows remote authenticated users to deploy denied containers through crafted image paths. The admission webhook omits policy evaluation when a workload-supplied image path matches one of three hardcoded service mesh sidecar images. Exploitation requires permission to deploy workloads and enabled admission deny rules; matching containers enter despite those rules.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
