CVE-2026-78414

Administrator takeover via rogue site-name script injection

Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in Network Optix Nx Witness VMS before 6.1.3 allows adjacent-network attackers to hijack administrator sessions. The Merge with Another Site list inserts a rogue peer server's script-bearing site name into Web Administration without neutralization, causing the administrator's browser to execute it. Exploitation requires control of an Nx server on the same network segment and an authenticated administrator to open the dialog; the script can steal the session token and take over the account.
