Configuration modification via unchecked web editor authorization
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Missing authorization in RansomLook 2.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify application configuration. The /admin/config handler relies only on login_required, accepts submitted section and scalar values, and writes them directly to config/generic.json without an administrator authorization check. Any authenticated low-privileged account that can reach the endpoint can alter LDAP, SMTP, notification, or general settings, redirect integrations, disrupt services, or make the installation unavailable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
