Arbitrary file read via unvalidated screen path
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Path traversal in RansomLook 2.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read process-accessible files through the group-post API. GroupPost.get joins the database-controlled screen value to the source directory and opens the resolved path without enforcing that directory boundary. Exploitation requires administrative control of the screen field or imported post data from a malicious upstream, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the service process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
