Remote crash via unchecked configuration copy
Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in EFM Networks ipTIME NAS1dual 1.5.24 allows remote attackers to crash its CGI service. The misc_main.cgi handler calls get_csrf_whites to copy the csrf_whites configuration value into a fixed 1,024-byte stack buffer without enforcing a length limit. An oversized value must already be present in the configuration; a POST request then reaches the vulnerable path, overwrites stack data, and terminates the process.
