CVE-2026-78299Hinoki check available

Arbitrary file write via unsafe pack extraction

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

Path traversal in Eclipse Embedded CDT 6.0.0 through 6.7.0 allows attackers to write arbitrary files via a compromised CMSIS-Pack archive. The CMSIS-Pack extractor accepts archive entry paths that resolve outside the intended pack directory and writes those entries to attacker-chosen locations on disk. Exploitation requires a user to extract a compromised pack; resulting writes have the user's filesystem permissions.
