Disclosure and crashes via unchecked RDB lengths
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Heap over-read in FalkorDB before 4.18.4 allows remote attackers to crash the Redis process or read heap memory via a crafted RDB stream. BufferSerializerIOv2_ReadBuffer in src/serializers/serializer_io.c uses a stream-supplied sub-buffer length in memcpy after only an ASSERT bounds check, which disappears in release builds. Exploitation requires access to Redis replication commands, including passwordless instances, and the reported consequences are process crashes or heap-memory disclosure rather than code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
