Administrator takeover via path-prefix authentication bypass
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Authentication bypass in EFM Networks ipTIME T16000M 14.20.2 allows remote attackers to reset the administrator password. The httpcon_check_session_url function enforces authentication only for URLs beginning with /sess-bin/, so /cgi/timepro.cgi skips httpcon_auth. A valid CAPTCHA value is required for the reset request; the new credentials grant access to the administrative interface.
