Authenticated command execution via unguarded Groovy filter
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Code injection in Provectus Kafka UI 0.7.0 through 0.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating system commands. The executeSmartFilterTest method sends attacker-controlled filterCode to the Groovy engine without checking filtering.groovy.enabled. Any authenticated account can reach the test endpoint even when Groovy filtering is disabled, exposing files and services available to the Kafka UI process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
