SSRF and file disclosure via implicit source interpretation

Published Oct 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026

File disclosure in Apache Camel's Docling component allows remote attackers to read local files through crafted message bodies. DoclingProducer interprets String prefixes as URLs or filesystem paths instead of document content, passing them to Docling or reading files for upload without an explicit source-mode choice. Exploitation requires a route forwarding attacker-controlled text into Docling and is bounded by accessible files and resources; affected releases are 4.15.0 through 4.18.4 and 4.19.0 through 4.22.0, with the URL-fetch sink present from 4.16.0.
