CVE-2026-78155Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated pod command execution via unpinned search path

Published Aug 23, 2026 · Updated Aug 23, 2026

Privilege escalation in OnGres StackGres 1.18.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute pod commands via database objects. The default metrics exporter opens superuser dblink sessions into tenant databases and executes unqualified version() calls without pinning PostgreSQL search_path, allowing a database owner to shadow the function with attacker-controlled code. Database ownership is required; the next Prometheus scrape runs the planted function as the PostgreSQL superuser, enabling COPY TO PROGRAM command execution and read/write access to co-located databases.
