Unauthenticated content disclosure via unnormalized REST routes
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Incorrect authorization in DEV Institute Restrict User Access 2.6 through 2.8 allows remote attackers to read protected REST API content. The plugin compares an unnormalized request route with its protected-route set, so an alternate route form misses the authorization check. No account is required; an exposed WordPress REST API with plugin protection configured permits restricted-content disclosure and user enumeration.
