CVE-2026-78134Network attack vector

Authenticated authorization bypass via incorrect identity binding

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Incorrect access control in strongSwan 4.5.0 through 6.0.7 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate other VPN users. The eap-peap and eap-ttls plugins omit or mismatch inner EAP authentication details when binding the authenticated identity to the IKE SA. Valid credentials and an affected tunneled EAP configuration are required; successful exploitation can select another user's policy or virtual IP.
