Authenticated file deletion via unbound image path
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
Broken object-level authorization in JoomShaper Helix Ultimate before 2.2.10 allows remote authenticated users to delete files under /images. Blog::remove_image() authorizes the supplied article ID but does not verify that the src path belongs to that article before deleting it. Author-level access to an editable article and a Joomla 3 build that performs physical deletion are required; the result is loss of site content or assets under /images.
