IKEv2 VPN interruption via malformed DELETE payload
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in WatchGuard Fireware OS iked allows remote attackers to crash IKEv2 VPN processing with crafted traffic. After an IKEv2 SA_INIT exchange, iked accepts an encrypted INFORMATIONAL message whose malformed DELETE payload makes it read about 196 KiB past a heap allocation. A Mobile VPN with IKEv2 or Branch Office VPN with IKEv2 must be configured; successful exploitation reliably terminates iked and interrupts IKEv2 VPN service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=12.0 <12.12.2
