Administrator-level code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Unrestricted PHP file upload in JEM 1.0.0 through 5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute code. The administrator source model writes attacker-supplied files with dangerous types, including PHP, without blocking executable content. A Joomla administrator account is required, and successful upload permits PHP execution in the web server's security context.
