Cluster-wide Secret access via overprivileged ServiceAccount
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Improper privilege management in Red Hat build of Apache Camel - HawtIO 4 allows attackers to access every cluster Secret. The hawtio-operator ClusterRole grants its ServiceAccount create, get, list, update, and watch verbs for Secrets across all namespaces, and direct API calls bypass the label-selector cache. Exploitation requires prior compromise of the operator pod, after which cluster credentials and other Secrets can be read or modified.
