CVE-2026-77890Network attack vector

Unauthenticated service interruption via type confusion

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026

Type confusion in Microsoft Windows DHCP Server allows remote attackers to interrupt the DHCP service through network traffic. The server accesses a resource using an incompatible type while processing attacker-controlled network input; Microsoft has not disclosed a narrower code locus or packet field. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
