Stored XSS via unescaped comment aria-label output
Published Sep 5, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Spam protection, Honeypot, Anti-Spam by CleanTalk 6.86 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The contacts encoder places attacker-controlled comment content in an aria-label attribute without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Unauthenticated comment submission delivers the payload, but it runs only for non-logged-in visitors and moderation requires approval before publication.
