UDM crash via uninitialized authentication state
Published May 4, 2026 · Updated May 4, 2026
Denial of service in Open5GS 2.7.0 through 2.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to crash UDM via a resynchronization request. The PATCH response path reaches udm_nudr_dr_handle_subscription_authentication without initializing auth_type, so an assertion aborts the UDM process. Exploitation requires SBI access and a fresh subscriber context; one crafted generate-auth-data request interrupts UDM authentication service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
