Unauthenticated code execution via PHP block misparsing

Code injection in SPIP before 4.4.20 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via crafted input to the template engine. During template generation, SPIP incorrectly identifies attacker-controlled <?php blocks and then passes the value through var_export, allowing input containing a < character to be reinterpreted as executable PHP in generated code. No authentication, user interaction, or special configuration is required, and the vendor reported exploitation in the wild in August 2026.
