Service hang via blocking DNS resolution
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
DoS in PUPnP libupnp before 22.0.4 allows remote attackers to hang UPnP service via hostnames in HTTP requests or GENA callbacks. In uri.c, parse_hostport synchronously calls getaddrinfo on untrusted hostnames while parse_uri processes inbound HTTP request targets and SUBSCRIBE CALLBACK headers. Exploitation requires access to the embedded HTTP miniserver or GENA subscription handler; slow DNS lookups occupy its bounded worker pool until resolver timeouts, interrupting UPnP service rather than crashing the process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
