Arbitrary command injection via leading-hyphen username

Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Command injection in Okta Privileged Access Client 1.59.0 through 1.110.0 allows local users to execute commands via an SSH target. The client passes a username beginning with a hyphen to the underlying SSH process, which interprets the value as a command-line option. Exploitation requires submission of the crafted target and user interaction, and injected commands run with the client user's access.
