Guard bypass via exponential-time substitution scanning
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Algorithmic DoS in Destructive Command Guard before 0.6.6 allows attackers to bypass command blocking via crafted shell input. In src/packs/mod.rs, substitution scanners reached through split_command_segments repeatedly rescan command suffixes after nested scans report unterminated input, causing exponential work. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled commands to reach an agent hook that fails open on timeout, allowing destructive commands to execute with the agent's existing permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
