Authenticated denial of service via oversized PDF pages
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
CPU exhaustion in Lychee before 7.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to stall image processing via crafted PDF uploads. ImagickHandler::loadPdf() passes oversized PDF page dimensions to Imagick::readImage() without an effective pre-render limit, consuming CPU before rendering fails. Upload privileges and Ghostscript-backed PDF support are required; synchronous processing occupies a web worker, while asynchronous processing delays the shared image queue, without a demonstrated sandbox escape.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
