Authorization bypass via unchecked delete-hook resource creation
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Argo CD's delete-hook authorization bypass allows remote authenticated users to create forbidden resources via Git manifests. The application-controller creates PostDelete hooks, and PreDelete hooks where supported, without applying AppProject destination checks or resource allow/deny lists. Exploitation requires write access to an Application's Git repository and subsequent Application deletion; resource creation is bounded by the controller's destination-cluster permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.10.0, <= 2.14.21
