Secret disclosure via fail-open direct-path ACLs
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
obsidian-tc before 1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to read vault secrets via direct paths that bypass default folder ACLs. Undefined readPaths and writePaths allow all paths, strictReadDefault is unenforced on direct requests, and .obsidian, .git, and .trash exclusions apply only during enumeration. Exploitation requires caller access and permissive ACL settings; readable plugin data files expose stored API keys, Sync passwords, and other in-vault data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
