Trip data disclosure via missing MCP scope check
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authorization bypass in Liketrek TREK before 3.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to read trip data through an under-scoped MCP token. The get_trip_summary handler in server/src/mcp/tools/trips.ts spreads core trip data into its response without requiring trips:read, including member email addresses, itinerary days, and accommodations. A valid scoped OAuth token and access to the requested trip are required; cross-user authorization remains enforced, and the consequence is limited to disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
