Arbitrary file read via unrestricted upload path
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Path traversal in sooperset MCP Atlassian before 0.22.0 allows remote authenticated users to read server-local files via attachment uploads. Attachment upload handlers accept an absolute or traversal file_path, normalize it, and pass it to open() without restricting it to an allowed directory before sending the bytes to Jira or Confluence. The caller must be able to invoke an enabled write or upload tool and select an attachment destination; disclosure is limited to files readable by the server process and does not provide code execution.
