Local file disclosure via unrestricted upload paths
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Path traversal in MCP Atlassian before 0.22.0 allows remote authenticated users to disclose server-local files through upload tools. Jira and Confluence attachment handlers normalize caller-controlled paths, check only for existence, and open them without enforcing an upload directory. Exploitation requires access to a write-capable MCP tool and an issue or page accepting attachments; readable files are uploaded with configured Atlassian credentials.
